I'm delighted to hear that eBay isn't going to end up full of criminals selling off stolen gear, and I doubt I'm the only one; buying the stuff is just a lazy way of taking your own shameful part in the widespread wanton theft and destruction and I want no part of it. Anyone idiot enough to start flogging off armfuls of stolen gear online will do little else but lead the police right to their door, even if they bother to set up different eBay, PayPal and bank accounts for every single item they sell so they become harder to trace.

Let's hope they are lumbered with the gear long enough to have sleepless nights and finally be shamed into turning themselves in when they have to look at it every minute of every day and finally realise their haul is worth nothing but lifelong embarrassment.

There are a number of ways to stop the profiteering; anyone selling a vast number of new items should be made to provide proof of purchase - to eBay in the first instance - and if they can't, just send the local police to their house to have a chat.

Or eBay could charge them 100% of the sale price in fees and give the money to the Daily Express fund that has been set up to help all of those who have lost out.

Then they'll wish they all stayed at home and had a nice cup of tea instead of one city trying to outdo the one before with a wave of meaningless destruction.

If Paypal has hopes of moving into more social commerce it's going to have to improve its login security. Compared to banks and other financial institutions Paypal's simple password login is risible.

This sounds like a much needed step forward to eBay. Their intention to increase the versatility of their buyer platform is one of the more positive aspects of eBay in 2011.

I am a huge fan of Goofbay and having been using the site for the last couple of years. I still win some auctions and lose some, but it has simplified the whole process for me and I wouldn't be without it now. I have also introduced several people to it's charms and they are fans too.
I would certainly recommend it to anyone, including to all those people I have sniped over the years.
I would love to see the return of all those tools that Ebay disagreed with, such as the one that allowed us to see how many watchers an item had - that was very useful.

Hi Lisa,

When entering your keywords just type in "vintage cotton" inside the quotation marks to find items that contain that exact phrase.

So instead of just typing Vintage cotton type in "Vintage cotton".

Hope that helps!

Since the re-developed website my snipe history has gone. Is this a new change or just that my old snipes have expired from the history at the same time as the change in format.

As, I suppose, might be expected, the auction ending times displayed on my pending snipes list here don't jive with the ending times I see when I visit the corresponding items I'm going to snipe on eBay. Is there a way to setup Goofbay to show the ending times that correspond with my time zone (PST)??? Sometimes when I'm logging into Goofbay, I get the popup that asks for my country ... and other times when I login, I don't get that popup. I seldom, if ever, check the box that says "Remember me" when I login. Anyway, I cannot thank Goofbay enough for the excellent service. THANKS !!! I look forward to your continued site improvements.
