eBay have joined Virgin Media in a recent promotional partnership that could soon create an increase in eBay Mobile orders.
Virgin media has announced that eBay and Renault with be the new advertising companies for the new wi-fi service on the London underground.
Mark Brandon, Virgin Media’s commercial director, described eBay and Renault as ‘perfect’ launch partners that will bring ‘relevant and engaging’ content to the Wi-Fi service.
eBay’s campaign will enable shoppers to explore online shopping with a choice of over 30million items whilst deep underground at tube stations across the capital for the very first time.
Olivier Ropars, Senior Director for eBay Mobile added: “We know that time spent travelling is often time people would like to fill with shopping or browsing on their mobiles. By investing in this presence on Virgin London Underground wifi, we hope we can help bring eBay mobile shopping to even more people and make getting online on the go even easier for our millions of mobile customers.”
The service is currently available at stations such as Euston, Green Park, Kings Cross St Pancras, Oxford Circus and Victoria and is set to be extended to 120 locations by the end of the year.
To use the new free WiFi service, London Underground passengers simply need to connect to the service and register their email address.
